UPDATE: Even Faster!!!

In 2015, in SHANGHAI, China, people rode Shanghai's Maglev (magnetic levitation) using the German Transrapid system from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road for transfer to Metro Line 2, completing the journey in eight minutes. In April 21 of 2015, for 11 seconds, the Japan Maglev train clocked 603 /Kilometres per hour of about 374 MPH to become the world's fastest train, beating its own records. The seven-carriage train beat the 590 km/h record achieved a week before by the same train.581 (km/h) for the 2003 record.
